El Grito en el Cielo

The production of "El grito en el Cielo" was staged by the bilingual section of Gymnázium Budějovická during the XIV Festival Nacional de Teatro en Español in Prague. Under Sonia Ruiz Parra’s direction, a talented ensemble brought to life Eusebio Calonge’s moving drama about four elderly residents of the Nueva Alborada care home, each grappling with the choice between routine and freedom.

Although the playwright himself, Eusebio Calonge (renowned for his work with La Zaranda), attended the premiere and praised the students’ "miraculous" performance.

Calonge went on to note how their youthful energy breathed life into his text, calling it "one of those pieces of theatre that truly comes alive on stage."
